generated from India was Rs. 58,68,80,00,000 in year 2016 and estimated given
by Forbes is to reach Rs. 1,47,20,00,00,000 by 2020 which is multi-fold
increase.
Two Base Arguments:
What will dominate world in next 50 years? –
- Answer is pure & simple it is “Corporates”. Neither any religious leaders nor political entities
- From past 10 years and next 50 years, what type of corporates are dominating and going to dominate?

Since India is 2nd largest mobile user country (1,151,936,422)
and considering mobile internet revolution India is going through currently,
Digital Media Marketing is going to grow out of expectation. Having said that
Technology companies whose revenue model is completely on Internet Data selling
or usually called as “Data Reseller” will be able to ride this wave ultimately.
India will end up draining crores of rupees every year to offer foreign technology
company this privilege.
If we compare GDP of around 190 countries versus revenue of
Google for 2017, Google stands at 64th rank. I am presenting this
comparison just to measure that how much powerful a company can grow to
influence world just on basis of data. Every search on video streaming site,
search engines, browsing, travel information, purchases and human behavior
resides in core of these technology websites. There are tremendous and limitless
possibilities on how to use this data for good and bad.
Another aspect of it is to struggle for leaving colonial
mindset and take control of ourselves. Country like India having all necessary
intellectuals, young population, nationalist ideology, fastest moving markets, and
rapid digitization in field of advertising and marketing should be able to
collectively build its strong Technology companies for betterment of its
economy and its data privacy controls.
Challenge: How will that platform come to mainstream?
Narendra Modi himself can create large user base by
switching to India based social media platform if he announce to stop using
Facebook and Twitter. He has 44 million and 42 million followers respectively and
if he can get people of India to new Indian social media platform, it would be
tremendous help to country. It sounds very nationalist but there is thin line of
difference between being called a Nationalist or to be someone who thinks about
secured and prosperous future of nation.
Again, I am very well aware that platform which I will use
to put this idea will be powered by Google and marketed by Facebook but at
least giving them so much of my data in free; I don’t feel guilty about this. With all respect to innovation these
technology companies has done, we should still not allow these giant to
have monopolistic control on our data and revenue. We should appreciate China
for its strength that it is capable of creating its own Google and protecting
its people from undue possibility of dominance these giants can have in future.
What we can do is spread the word of you feel this makes
sense in better of nation. So that media and politicians can give it necessary
priority to surface it to its right level.
